John,
According to a newspaper clipping, THE SUN, in Maryland
Historical Society in Baltimore, my ancestor, Lt. Henry Stowell,
was buried in the German Reformed Cemetery in 1825. I learned
that the cemetery was swallowed for a new highway. My question
is: where might I find the information on the whereabouts of Lt.
Stowell's remains. His wife, Mary Anna (nee Gifford) Stowell
and daughter Joanna (nee Stowell) Oden have been buried in
the Mt. Olivet since 1874, but I have yet to lcoate a gravestone
for Lt. Stowell. Any idea? Any assistance would be appreciated.
Regards,
Jean
