Any land grants before 1743 are discussed in "Pioneers of Old Monocacy" and
platted on paper by the authors. These plats are at the Carroll County
Historical society. The Plats actually represent grants beyond l743 and go up
to l790's.
The original land patents of the whole state appear in the series of volumes
"Early Settlers of Maryland" and can be followed by owner/name/resurvey
through the years.
Frederick county patents also appear in "Inhabitants of Frederick County,
Maryland" Vol II.
Some idea of land ownership can be found in the 1798 tax assessments, which
list grant name and acreage by district. These appear in several volumes of
"Western Maryland Genealogy"
