Sorry to be slow in responding, Frank Mayberry!
My branch of this family goes like this: South Dakota>Wisconsin>New
York>Rhode Island>Massachusetts. As you can guess, it is the maternal side
of my family that reaches to Maryland...and back to Scotland.
This does not mean you have no Mayberrys living in Va.-MD-Delaware,
etc. They are just not from my line.... Have you tried the book that was
written on this family in the 1950s? The Lib. of Congress might have
one. (Just a moment...let me get my dusty ole thing out!) The title
is..."History and Genealogy of the Medbury-Medbery-Medberry Family,
Descendants of John Medbury, Swansea, Massachusetts, 1680." The
author...lives is Maryland, no less! (yet I doubt she is still
living) 'compiled' by Mrs. James F. Medbery; 508 Greenbrier Drive; Silver
Spring, Maryland 20910. ...(published?) September 1965. This was quite
an effort..., but some of the people did not respond (obviously, she did
this mostly by mail). Those who did have quite a bit of information listed
here.
