On November 24, 1750, the exterior of the county's first
courthouse was completed. The interior was finished in
1756.

On November 24, 1790, John Thomas Schley, who built
the first house in Frederick Town, died.

On November 24, 1880, the members of The Independent
Hose Company met to hear a proposal by the LaFrance
Manufacturing Company, of Elmira, N. Y., to replace
"Romeo," their fire engine destroyed at a fire the day before.

On November 24, 1897, Judge John A. Lynch retired from
the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court after 30 years on the bench.

On November 24, 1959, The Historical Society of Frederick
County, Inc., bought the Dr. John Baltzell house, and former
Loats Female Orphan Asylum, on East Church Street in
Frederick, for $45,000.
