Jude,
This is a fishing expedition.
All I have is a James CLARK in Spencer County somewhere between 1833 and
1843. He apparently married a dau of William B. HEAD from Frederick Co.,
MD. I can't figure out which dau in Wm. B's will dated 1833. James had a
chancery court case in Spencer Co., probably something to do with his wife's
share (she must have been deceased by this time). I was hoping someone had
info re James and/or his case. I need to know if he mentions the other
heirs who are located in Daviess Co., KY. If so, I will need to get a copy
of the record. This could prove that Wm. B's deceased brother and heir,
Cecilius HEAD, was the parent of my Richard (b 1809, d. 1875).
James E. and Jane NIX of Washington Co., KY had a dau, Mary E. NIX (b 1843).
James E. died by 1860 and I haven't found out if Jane remarried. In 1861
Mary E. SIMMONS, age 17, mar Benjamin H. JACKSON in Bullitt Co. The mar
record noted that Mary's father, James E. NIX, was deceased. It appears the
two oldest Nix boys were sent out to work on their own and Mary after age 7
was either raised or adopted by a SIMMONS family. Mary denies knowing who
her parents are in any other later records. I need to know what happened to
her mother, her siblings, and who was the SIMMONS family who took her in and
why.
Any help would be most appreciated.
