If the record being referred to is in either the 1700's or early
1800's it is most probably talking about Sugar Land Hundred.
Dorinda or John may correct me in this, but I believe that there
was a
Sugar Land Hundred during this time frame. A "Hundred" was an Anglo-Saxon
term that in essence states that an "area" could supply one hundred
troops.
In Maryland these later became the Districts that we see referred
to
on the census records. Unfortunately many of these are not cross
referenced to
the present day districts and neither are there tax records for some of
them
from the 1700's.
I believe that a tax record does exist for Sugar Land Hundred as
represented in one of the books by Brumbaugh. I remember seeing it in one
of his
books in my collection and making a mental note that it was populated by
Englishers.
