Does anyone know more about Stephen Steiner that John Ashbury wrote about in
the History Moment today? (listed below) I have been unable to locate him
in 1790 & 1800 census records. Also is there more information about The
Steiner House available?
I am trying to locate the burial place of John Stoner/Steiner (& wife
Catherine Ramsburg) abt 1737-Sept 1798.
Stephen may be one of their sons.

John Stoner/Steiner is Rev. War Patriot of the MD Line and in 1775 he was
elected a member of the Committee of Public Safety, called "Committee of
Observation" for the middle district of Frederick, MD, (Scharf's History of
Western MD) also commissioned Captain in the Maryland Line and served,
1778-79. He died, 1798, in Frederick, MD.

> On April 24, 1799, Stephen Steiner bought two lots at Bentztown on the
southeast corner of West Patrick and present day Jefferson Streets for 650
pounds on which he later built what we call The Steiner House.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks John Ashbury for all your
History Moments!
