On January 27, 1838, Casper Quinn was elected president of Independent Hose
Company.
On January 27, 1992, Major Regis Raymond Raffensberger, head of the
Baltimore City Police Department's Tactical Unit, was named by Frederick
City Mayor Paul P. Gordon as the city's new police chief. He was sworn in on
February 24.
