On November 22, 1765, the Frederick County Court, which ran the government
of the county in this period of the county's history, approved the use of
unstamped documents in defiance of the British Stamp Act.


On November 22, 1845, the United Steam Fire Engine Company, successor to the
Washington Hose Company, was officially organized. It remains one of
Frederick's finest fire and rescue companies today.


On November 22, 1849, the "Farmers' Club" was organized with Gideon Bantz as
president.


On November 22, 1875, the Emmitsburg Railroad made its first trip from
Emmitsburg to "a point west of the Monocacy River to connect with the
Western Maryland Railroad. It had been incorporated on March 28, 1868.


On November 22, 1937, the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad announced the end of
passenger and express service between Frederick and Baltimore.
