Sounds like you are going to need the 1900 Garrett Co. census. We still
need 9 more orders before that will be published on CD and then made
available on-line.
Marriage records are at the Oakland, MD courthouse, but I don't know if you
can order them without a marriage date.
I had the same thing when I started working on my g, grandparents, UPOLE. I
knew they had a daughter who died at age nine and I knew where she was
buried. Her stone listed her as the daughter of T.E and G.M. Upole. My
mother remembered that my g, grandfather's given name was Truman.
I have found them all now, except G. M. (Gracie Myrtle) Turner Upole's
family, so it can be done. Keep looking.
