In a posting last August, Lee W. Rice wrote, "If your Simon Knox lived
in or near Friendsville/Selbysport he could be buried in Addison,
Somerset County, PA. Before the Youghiogheny Reservoir was filled to
full pool, The United States Corps of Engineers moved graves from
Selbysport, Guard, Mill Run, Geis, MD and Watsondale, Somerfield and
other PA communities to the Addison Cemetery."

Can somebody tell me where the area of Geis, Maryland, was located and
how it got its name?
