I have 2 pgs of the 1850 census for Allegany/Maryland Dist. 2 for families
482-497 Alphons France (Frantz), Jonathon France, another Jonathon France,
Joshua France, John Alexander, Joseph Spiker, Josiah Beeghley, Nicholas
Musser, Michl K. Beeghley w/several other borders (incl. Chas Hetrick, 8 yrs
old), Catharine Heddrickson w/John age 9, Martin Deal, Henry Deal, George
Gorr, Geo Hetrick w/Mary, John Miller, John P. Miller.
In 1860 (Oct 26), some of the same families but in District 11--and it
appears this census was taken from the opposite direction from the 1850
census, using the two families of Josiah and Michael Beeghly as the
consistent families. Elizabeth Daniels family, Martin Diehl, Martin Heidrich
(Hetrick), Daniel Flickinger, Rudolph Yuder (Yoder?), Austin Spiker, Michael
Beeghly . . . cont on Oct 27, the rest of Michl Beeghly family (Daniel,
etc.), John Heidrich (Hetrick) & Laura Kimmet, Josiah Beichley and Sally,
John Davis, Nicholas Musser w/ Elizabeth, Joseph Spiker, Phillip Kimmet and
Andrew Snyder . . . cont (Oct 27) Phillip Gorr, Balthizer Diehl, Augustus
Neil, Louis Swalp, John Karline?, Henry Grise? w/Charles Heidrich (Hetrick)
16 farm laborer, Andrew Fox, and John Frantz.
Also have some pages for 1870 (Jul 8th) for Allegany/Accident District 11--
Dorothea Hermann, Lewis Hermann, Joseph Yoder, David Fraker? w/Francis
Custer? and Sarah Friend, Mary Serter? w/ James and Sarah Skiles?, Nelson
McGittegan w/Zackary? Sloan, George Keller, Charles Hetnick (Hetrick) &
Caroline (Gorr), Lewis Lininger cont on Jul 12 . . . Bear Creek/Collier Road
near Keyser Ridge? Liningers lived in PA just across the MD border. Charles
is buried in Bear Creek farms burial ground.
1870 (Jul 12) for Allegany/Accident District 11 that included families 80-87
remainder of Lininger, Dash, Wm Knoyer (w/Mary Durst 16 border?), Margroff,
Swalp, Havenkamp, Clepp, John w/Laura Hednik (Hetrick) . . . Suspect these
two census (7/8-12th) were PA/MD border (Keyser Ridge?) and Rabbit Hollow
south toward Bowman Hill Rod
1870, Dist 11 (Jul 18, cont from Jul 12), for John and Laura Hednik
(Hetrick), Wm Miller, Henry Miller, Henry Baugh (Bach?), Wm Hackman and
Melchoir Miller (Rabbit Hollow south and the Cove area?)
1870, Dist 11 (Jul 23, cont from Jul 12) - Rabbit Hollow area? Catherine
Gaower (25) do not have the head of family at the bottom of previous sheet
(family 170), John Piles, Charles Schlosnagle, Christopher Schlosnagle, Jacob
Brown, Joseph Glass, Conrad Hetrick, Jacob Twiney (w/ Robert Hilemon 26). I
think this was the Rabbit Hollow area because of the Glass and Hetrick
families
Andrew and Mary Snyder moved to the Negro Mtn area (Dung Hill in about 1864).
Conrad and Nancy Hetrick moved to Legeer Rd in 1877. Their land bordered
Pysell's.
The 1870 (Aug. 11) census for Allegany/Grantsville District 3. This included
my Andrew Snyder family, Andrew Pysell, Isaac Bidinger, Solomon Sybert, Unah
Merrill, etc. (Negro Mtn/Dung Hill area)
1880 - (Dist ?) Lewis Harman, Edmond Margroff (Elizabeth
Daniels-mother-in-law), Jacob Becket, Charley and Caroline (Gorr) Hetrick,
Henry Lininger, Alex Wiley, Nancy Hetrick family, Andrew Snyder family w/
Charlie Wilhelm (3), Jonas Hetrick 23, Solomon Seibert. Suspect this census
was around N. Rabbit Hollow/Legeer/Dung Hill.
Jun 1900 census - Bittinger -- Perry Broadwater, Amos Beckman?, George
Ruckle, Fred M. Bittinger, Melchoir Hetrick (Area - Legeer or Maynardier?)
1900 census - Bittinger -- Jacob Peck family w/brother-in-law Theodorr
Simons, John Fazenbaker, Charles & Caroline (Gorr) Hetrick, Michael Legeer
w/servants Darlie Fullerton and Charlie Daily, Nancy Hetrick (40) family w/o
Conrad, Cornellius Bowser, Alexander Wiley (Legeer Rd area)
1910 census -- Dist 11 (Apr 20) families 32-38 John Hetrick w/Ida, twins,
Nancy (mother) and border Ida Mae Keefer (3)--Mill Road?, Cornelius Bowser,
William Gray, Alexander Wiley, George L. Wiley, Albert Brenneman, Simon
Brenneman.
***Sam, do you know where Cornelius Bowser lived in 1910? It appears
Cornelius lived next to Nancy (widow) and her family in 1900 and then next to
her son John where she was a living in 1910. This reference to Mill Road is
very confusing to me. Could that have been the name of Bowman Hill or Legeer
Road at one time. I have John and family living at the Legeer/Bowman Hill Rd
until he moved to Accident about 1916 or so. It's not likely Cornelius would
have moved along with the Hetricks***
1910 census -- Dist 12 Oliver Buckle, Joel Orendorf, Melchoir Hetrick (Legeer
or Maynardier Ridge Rd), Frederick Bittinger family w/Elizabeth Ruckle
(mother), Esther Fazenbaker family, Elizabeth Snyder and dau Lulu (Dung
Hill), Henry Wiley.
***Does anyone have any information that would prove or disprove where Oliver
Buckle and the remaining families lived in 1910?***

I thought it strange that they would stop the census in the middle of a
family and then pick up where they left off several days later. Hmmmm. Must
of stopped on Friday and picked back up on Monday. :-)
