So does the tombstone for Jacob verify his death date for you? I had him in
my files, only as the parent of an in-law to my family. Later when I was
searching for information about a Boswer who married my 2nd gg aunt, I ran
across the information which gave me his wife's maiden name. I must have
added the birth and death info for Jacob at this time - and I can't remember
where I got it. Maybe at Ancestry.com? Anyway, the birthdate agrees, but the
death date - I had born Abt 1812, Addison, Somerset, PA - and died 28 Sep
1875, Garrett County, MD. There is a date calculator on my program, and it
gives a birth date of 14 Jul 1802/ Incidentally, the program also gives the
birthday as being a Wednesday, and died on a Thursday

...When I removed the lower part of the stone, nearly
half of the original height having sunk to ground level; it read in it's entirety "Jacob Bowser Died Sept. 16, 1875 Aged 73 yrs 2 mos. & 2 Ds." with the inscription 'H. Williams, Frostburg'" at the very bottom. (Elizabeth's also had the Williams 'signature' at the bottom).
