Lois,
That's what I thought. De looked like Bo to transcriber, maybe.
The girls names are almost the same as what I have for the 7 sisters who are known to us. Barbara's age would
likely fit this record----I have b. "abt. 1750" and this record would put this Barbara b. 1756 and that date would
make my Barbara
18 yrs. old at birth of first child in 1774 . This court record names "Abraham" Dellenbach?/Bollenbach as the
father, however--? My source for "Peter Dellenbach" as Barbara's father was sent to me by another researcher and
it is "Mennonite Family History" by John M. Byler. Wonder if anyone on List has this book-----??
Other "if" questions would be:
He could have been Peter Abraham or vs/vs?
This Abraham could have just coincidentally named his daughters the same names---or could be a brother who did the
same?
The only census I have found is:
Berks Co, PA 1790 U.S. Census A-F (INDEX - File 1 of 3)
PG# LN# LAST NAME FIRST NAME FILE NAME
159 14 Diefenbach Jacob pg0154.txt
130 8 Diefenbach Peter pg0125.txt
I need to re-check the Christian Fike book to see what they said about Barbara's parents.
Also, need to find where I can buy:
DELLENBACH. The Dallenback family in America, 1710-1935, by A.L Dillenbeck
& K.M. Dallenbach. 439p. 1935. $67.50----ouch!!
Guess I can't hope for someone who reads this letter to HAVE the book
and willing to send the information. I am not even sure it will have our Dellenbach's in it. <sigh>
=;o)
