Sneaking out without the boots sounds like me when I was a kid growing up in
Cumberland. What I can remember is those ugly cotton stockings. As soon as
I got to school I would take them off and put on a pair of ankle sox!
Oakland, Md. was just beautiful tonight. The temperature now is around 29
degrees. The annual Santa Claus parade was this evening, and I couldn't get
over how many people were there. BUT, after moving here in '63 I realized
that weather didn't stop anyone from going places.........It was a night for
the kids. Santa arrived and was taken into a local photographer's store and
each child had their picture taken with Santa, was given a popcorn ball and
box of candy. The line was long and they were very patiently awaiting their
visit with Santa........It was a beautiful night..the snow was softly coming
down, people seemed happy, and free food was given. I passed one area where
they were preparing hamburgers.
GUESS WHAT? "I" had my picture taken with Santa!!!!
