Charles Asbury Friend was after the
Captain of the boat that brought Isreal
Freind and his family back to Maryland
from Missouri. Source: Indian Blood by
Evelyn Guard Olsen, p 114.

Charles served in the Civil War in Co.
D, 3rd Maryland Potomac Home Brigade.
Interred at Sang Run. Source: Glades
Star, Vol 3, No 5, p 101.

Charles is listed in 1900 census of
Garrett Co, MD, dwelling 31, family 31,
head of household, born Dec 1837, age
63, married 32 years, born in MD, father
born in MD, Mother born in MD.,
occupation, farmer, able to read, write,
and speak English. Owns a mortgage free
farm, no 31.

Charles is listed in 1910 census of
Garrett Co,, head of household, age 72,
widowner, born in my father in US,
mother in MD.
