In the Bittinger book I found Melchior - Johann Melchior was born in 1811.
He & wife came to America abt 1832 & settled in the Cove, near Accident.
Reportedly 1849 Phillip sent son, Melchior J. 16 yrs to visit in the Cove &
report back on conditions and as a result his father's family emigrated from
Germany abt. 1850 in the Cove. Phillip a farmer in Germany bought 200 acre
rectangle 1863 along Harmon Rd. n. of Bear Creek Rd. Phillip Sr. d. 11 Jan
1875 buried in St. John's Lutheran Church Cem. in the Cove.
