Shirley Bartlett on the MDGarrett Rootsweb site sent me a sheet of
immigration records for Johann Conrad Hederich and wife Catharina Schmidt (my g-g
grandparents) from Zeilbach and her Diehl relatives.

Lois, this is what I have on the Schmidts.

Go to the index under S & my greatx3grandmother was Anna Elisabetha Schmidt,
her parents were Johann Casper Schmidt & Anna Momberger. It lists their
children, but I don't have all of their spouses. shirley

Also have some of Johann Conrad Hederich's mother's information (our ggg
grandmother). After I get a copy of the Immigration newspaper clipping, I might
find out more. A Swiss man at our church was reading something about an
unexpected catastrophe/event that appeared to have happened in the Hederich family
(could be why we lost the trail of Dorcus, the grandmother; also the baby girl
named after her. So, I'm now into the late 1700s because it appears that
Catharina Schmidt Hederich's sisters were the deceased wives of the Diehl families
that immigrated to Baltimore in 1846/47.

Am now also wondering if Rosie Smith Moon is related. I have yet been able to
write to her. We're coming up on a year since I tried to get the genealogy
research to my MD cousins. Tried for Christmas last year, maybe I'll make it by
Christmas this year.

More later . . .
