This is something you could look up for me. I hate to admit that I don't
know much about this yet. I wish it was feasible for Mrs. Hicks to be up
here more often to help me. I wanted to write the history of Friendsville
after New Year's and put it on disk. I have found so many notes, it is hard
to put in order. I know they did it in the 80's for a tour. I think it was
her brother Bruce who did it. I wish they had done a video but I haven't
found one yet.
We were probably out of school by the time he came back here to teach and I
don't know where they moved to. They called him the Colonel. Was that
because he was a Colonel in the service, was he strick, I don't know. He
and his second wife also divorced and she kept one of Jim Ross' sons but why
I don't know that either. She lived on the corner in Kay Fike's house, then
some apartment, now someone told me she was out on Myers Rd at Asher Glade
and had altzeimers. I remember when she came to Friendsville and started
teaching at Northern. She was on the corner room on the right going to the
office before you got to Ms. Rowan's room.
I know she & Carroll are both descendants of the Friend's but not related.
Her name is Mary Aultman Forsythe.
Keep asking questions so I can get into this history and learn it. Shirley
