Ron,
Thank you for replying. As I age, I find I often miss things, so I
was wondering if this was the case here. Ethel Fike Friend"s father was
a neighbor of my grandparents, and I always understood John Fike was a
farmer. I believe I may have sent to you a picture of a group meeting at
the farm of John Fike to cooperate in hauling stone. Ethel was a young
girl in that picture. I wish pictures had been taken of the farmers
cooperating at harvest time as they went from farm to farm completing
the threshing. The stories they told at dinner at the end of the day
held me spellbound, but I cannot recall any of those stories now. I
loved to visit my grandparents when the farmers were working Grandpap's
farm. Many other wives accompanied their husbands and helped with the
cooking. The women had a lot of interesting conversation throughout the
day.
