You both have such good records that I hesitate to corret you but
feel I must.
You have Laura Elllen Friend as the 8th child of John H H Friend and
Lydia Umberson as
Laura Ellen Friend 1877 married Brooks D Groves in Garrett
County........
Laura is my great aunt. daughter of John Abraham Friend of Francis
Albanus
of John Simpson, Gabriel etc. Laura and Brooks lived on a farm in
my neighborhood
until they were too old to farm, Then they moved to Friendsville to
care for the
daughter of Frances Albanus Friend and his second wif4e, They died
in Friendsville
and were buried in the Oak Grove Cemetery outside Terra Alta close to
their old
farm. Brooks had been a lay leader in the church there for many years.
Your dates were correct but did not have death dates, Brooks died in
1951 and
Laura died in 1963.
