Thank you for posting this. It listed M. G. Harvey once as a witness and then again as M. G. Harvey J.P. Is this Manassah G. Harvey that is known as Doc Harvey? Was he also a Justice of the Peace?

RACHAEL UNKNOWN. She was born Abt. 1803 in Pennsylvania. She died Bet.
1870-1880 in Probably Garrett Co., Maryland.

Notes for Rachael Unknown:
General Notes: Deed of July 18, 1861 (then) Allegany Co. MD - Rachael Wagner
bought from John Brobst and Mary Ann (Friend) Brobst, Military Lot # 1861,
called "Uncleton" (fifty acres). [Uncleton was/is in the Swanton, MD area]
I believe Rachael is somehow related to the Brobst and Craven families of
(now) Garrett Co., Maryland.
There is only one John A. Wagner listed in the 1870 census for Garrett Co.,
MD and his wife is Rachael. I can't find Rachael after this census, thus I
believe the marriage record for John A. Wagoner to Elizabeth McCrobie in
1880 and both being listed as widow and widow respectively, is John's second
marriage after Rachael died sometime between 1870 and 1880.

At the request of Rachael Wagner this deed was recorded July 18, 1861.
This deed made this twenty second day of April in the year of our Lord
eighteen hundred and sixty one by us John Brobst and Mary A. Brobst, his
wife, Witnesseth; that in consideration of two hundred (dollars) in hand
paid by Rachael Wagner, we the said John Brobst and Mary A. Brobst, his
wife, doth grant unto Rachel Wagner the following described real estate to
wit: Lot No. 1861, situate in Allegany County, State of Maryland, and
contained in a tract of land called "Uncleton", joining lands of Messrs
Beckman, Anderson and others, Beginning at the south west corner, running
due north 89 1/2 perches, east 89 1/2 perches, south 89 1/2 perches the by a
straight line to the beginning containing fifty acres more or less. Witness
our hands and seals, April 22 day of 1861.
Test: M. G. Harvey
John Brobst (seal)
Mary Ann Brobst (seal)
State of Maryland, Allegany County, to wit:
Thereby certify that on this 22 day of April in the year of our Lord one
thousand, eight hundred and sixty one before me the subscriber, a Justice of
the Peace in and for the said County, personally appeared john Brobst and
Mary A. Brobst, his wife and did each acknowledged the foregoing deed to be
their respective acts.
M. G. Harvey, J. P.
(John Brobst's second wife was Mary Ann Friend, d/o Joseph, granddaughter of
John Sr. (Old John Friend of Friendsville, MD)

JOHN A. WAGNER & RACHAEL UNKNOWN. They had 1 child.

i. JAMES M. WAGNER. He was born Abt. 1839 in Maryland. Military Service
