Hi Lois -- There are two churches, with great cemetaries, located on Twin
Churches Road. It's a lovely place to walk, less than a mile from my home,
and even to cross country ski in winter! I'm pretty sure there was never a
formal "Twin Church" area; however, people who lived on that hill often
located themselves as "living on Twin Churches".
Hope you are well! -- Carolyn

Fran,
I found a little information just this evening while trying to organize
piles of genealogy information. I can't even believe I found this as it was
in a
folder totally unrelated to what I was organizing. I just received this
information earlier this year.
My uncle Oscar and Ruth Faidley Hetrick's youngest son Paul Hetrick m.
Helen
Otto, dau of Loraine Otto and Mary Elma Jankey.
Loraine Otto's parents: Samuel L. Otto and Emma Kamp (from Switzerland),
dau
of Robert Kamp (died of a heart attack) and Emily ? (died of a broken hip).
Robert and Emily died one day apart.
My notes say Twin Churches near cemetery. I know there is a Twin Churches
Rd
that goes through New Germany, but I can't find a place called Twin
Churches.
Some pioneer Faidley's were from the Somerset area, but I understand that
Ruth's Faidley parents worked at the Jennings Hotel and that is where she
was
raised.
You might check the various censuses. I have practically memorized the
Accident (which included the Cove) census over the past 12 years (from
1850-1930)
and I don't recall ever seeing a "Kamp/Camp" family. Maybe
Grantsville/Somerset censuses would be good places to check.

I wonder if there are any researchers/descendants of the John CAMP/KAMP
family that immigrated from Germany, settling in Allegany/Garrett County,
MD.
John arrived with his parents and siblings. John was b. c. 1823, his wife
Emma
b. c. 1830 PA (Somerset Co, PA?). Their 12 children were b. in
Friendsville
and Accident, Cove, Allegany/Garrett County, MD? The family, ultimately at
separate times migrated to Somerset County, PA. My focus at this time is:
one
of the CAMP family son's Jacob Levi CAMP, b. 1851, m. Mary Anne ______, b.
1860 PA (Somerset County, PA?). Their 7 children were also b. Accident,
Cove,
Garrett County, MD. Later migrating to Somerset County, PA. Can anyone
share any information relating to the CAMP family/researchers/descendants?
Also,
the maiden name's of Jacob's mother Emma and Jacob's wife Mary Anne? It is
believed both ladies families were residents of Somerset County, PA. Any
information is extremely and deeply appreciated. Thank you,Fran
