Hi All,
What a week it's been! Sorry for the delay in responding.

I read years ago about using saran wrap - it helps to prevent oxidation as
it keeps out the air.

How wonderful Priscilla that you've these treasures! My great uncle, Julius
Walter, born in 1892, was ticket master at the Oakland station! His brother,
David, born 1890, was telegrapher and switch master in Deer Park. And
another brother, Albert ("Dutch"), born 1889, worked in the cabooses for the
B&O. I recall that tung oil is good for preserving leather. Too bad that old
man Schwarztentruber isn't still around. I remember fondly the smell of his
leather shop which I think was across the street from the Depot.
