Subject: [MDGARRET] Need Mary Jane Burton and Nell Smith obits
Date: Fri, 19 Dec 2008 12:17:59 -0800 (PST)

I don't have a vehicle or else I would be doing this research myself; however, I need the following information if any body has it or knows more information to help me look things up.

Need obituary for two women buried in the Deer Park Cemetery in Deer Park, Maryland:  Mary Jane Burton and Nell Smith.

Mary Jane Burton
I know Mary Jane was killed in a car wreck, and I have seen a picture of her in my grandmother's photo album (I do not have this photo and the picture of the car wreck; some one else in the family would have it) - there might of been a news story in the newspaper about Mary Jane's wreck and her photo as well.

Nell Smith
Nell Smith knew my grandfather and he bought her a tomb stone - I also was given a photo of Nell Smith, my grandfather, and another women on a farm, they are very well dressed - I received this photo as part of my grandmother's estate.

The Burtons and the Smiths would have been family friends of my grandparents, Frances Haven and Mary Catherine (Holtschneider) DeWitt of Kitzmiller, Maryland.  Once my grandparents and my mother passed away, taking care of these graves was passed on to me - so I would like to know more about these people who's graves I put flowers on, have mowed in the past (my grandparents eventually paid for perpetual care), trim shrubs, clean up litter, and keep an eye on.

Furthermore, we have been told for years that there was a fire at the house at the bottom of the entrance road to the Deer Park Cemetery and because of that fire the entire burial plot registry was destroyed for most of the Deer Park Cemetery - the only information available was for the new section of the cemetery.  My grandparents were given burial plots in this cemetery, so I thought I would mention this to see if any one else is having problems with research or if any one would have any receipts or burial plot registry information to help other people out with family tree research or any thing else.

Thanks,
Becky
