Vital Records Indexing Project of the Maryland State Archives

Currently has only the Death Record Indexes, still working on other records.
There appears to be a problem with that server as I write this, because it
will not currently allow access. Normally, it has been working for me.

This has old Baltimore City Directories and other old state records that you
can actually search online.

Regarding accessing the Vital Records images, if the images won't open, try
reinstalling Acrobat Reader, even if you already have it on your computer.
I had a similar problem, caused by the link being broken between Internet
Explorer and Acrobat Reader, even though I had the latest versions of both.
Reinstalling Acrobat reestablished the link and it worked fine after that.
Somebody smarter than me suggested that, so I recommend you try it. It's
free and only takes a few minutes. If this works for you, please let the
