HARDESTY, Village near Hall, Prince George's County. The name represents the
Hardesty family, whose founder, George Hardesty, a Virginia Puritan,setled
in Maryland before 1652. His son was described in 1694 as, George Hardesty
Gentleman. The latter had six children, some of who settled in Prince George's
County.
