Just to add a little more to the Carrow mix....
My grandfather's name was Carrow Tolson Prout. According to family lore, he
was named for a Methodist preacher on the Maryland Eastern Shore named Carrow
Tolson, who was apparently very inspiring (in the late 1800s).
My grandfather's mother was from Queen Anne County on the Eastern Shore, and
his father was from Calvert County on the Western Shore. Both families were
ardent Methodists.
