I found the document. Unfortunately there is nothing on it to say
where it came from, and no date, but I think I got it from an Equity
case file at the Harford County Courthouse.
"To the honorable judges of the Circuit Court for Harford County, sitting
in equity: This bill of complaint by Joseph A. Coale and Mary Eliza
Coale his wife, who sue in right of the said Mary Eliza Coale, humbly
shews that heretofore a certain John B. McFadden, late of Harford County,
wasin his lifetime seized and posessed a lot or parcel of ground situate
and lying in Harford County aforesaid, containing two acres and sixteen
and a half perches of land more or less, which is fully and particularly
described in a deed from Stevenson Archer, trustee to the said John B.
McFadden, bearing date November 9th 1849 and recorded among the Land
Records of the Circuit Court for Harford County in Liber ALJ no 23 folio 15th,
that being seized and posessed thereof, the said John B. McFadden departed
this life intestate on or about the ___ day of September 1870, leaving
a widow, Elizabeth McFadden surviving him, and your oratrix Mary Eliza
Coale, Henry McFadden, Minerva Jane McFadden, Elizabeth wife of George
Harward, and Hannah Stewart, wife of James Polk Wakeland his only surviving
children, and Alfred Forwood, Laura, wife of Walter Chamberlain, Mary
Jane Forwood, Hannah Eliza Forwood and Sarah E. Forwood his grandchildren,
and children of his deceased daughter Margaret Susan Forwood. ...etc...
Laura, Mary Jane, Hannah, and Sarah are infants under the age of twenty-one
years. ...etc..."
Perhaps I was mistaken about Mary Wann. This document says the wife
was Elizabeth.
