Thought I would take the time to share an experience that I had with my
Burch family research. For many years it was thought that my Oliver Burch
of Maryland, was married to Barbara Scott, based on a document that mentions
John Scott, brother of Barbara Burch.
However, it turned out that was a wrong assumption in that Oliver Burch
actually married Barbara Tennison, and John Scott was in truth, her
brother-in-law, and not her blood brother.
This false belief existed for over 40 years, that I know of, and maybe
even longer, until someone searching the Tennison family, learned that
Barbara Burch was a Tennison.
Just wanted to share that experience.
Thanks,
Sallie
