Norma, This was a disappointing find.

"January 1667. Came Ninian Bell of Calvert County planter and proved
right to fifty acres of Land for his time of Service performed with
Richard Hall of the same County."
[Maryland Patents. Lib.11:195. LDS film 0013068 item 2] Interesting that
both the date and citation on the abstract is incorrect.

That Ninian Bell was in Maryland by 1658 is proven by the following
assignment by Rose Browne:

"August 26 1668. Then came Richard Hall and Enters these rights, Vizt,
himself Elizabeth his wife, William Swayne, Valentine Headlestone,
Ringing Bell, Henry Smith, Thomas Morley, Anne Jordan, Rose Brown,
Elizabeth Rose, and Hannah West, Margery Cole, Bridgett Daw by the
afsignement of John Sinkler.
Warrant to Surveyor Generall to lay out for Richard Hall 650 Acres of
Land, return 26 Mar next.
I Rose Browne do afsign and Settover unto Richard Hall Carpenter, all my
right title and Interest of two rights, Winan Beale, John Edwards.
Wittnefs my hand this 24th of August 1658. The mark of (T) Rose Browne.
Memorandum: That the above sd Richard Hall, had Warrant for One thousand
Acres of Land by order of the Govern... he the said Hall making the
remainder of his said rights appear and Enter the same into the
Secretaries office within Six Months next after the date hereof , Vizt 26
August 1668, return 26 March next.
