Subject: [MDPGEORG] Seeking info on Ross's in Bladenburg area 1790's - 1814

Hi! Am seeking any information on Jon Ross who owned the Indian Queen
Tavern, during the time George Washington traveled through and stopped there,
and on the birth of John Ross b 9/06/1793 and Mary Ross b 2/11/1795. Was it
in Bladensburg or Prince George Co?? Family records have it that he met G.
Washington 3 times as a young child at his fathers tavern in Maryland.
Internet search seems to indicate that it could be the Indian Queen. It
looks like John Sr may have originally come from Pennsylvania? The mother we
have as a Elizabeth McKune or Maclyn, b 1757 or 1767. Any info on this would
be very appreciated. John Jr was drafted in for the war of 1812 in York, PA
in 1814, so they moved back to PA sometime before that. Thanks! This has
been a dead end in the family line, and gosh are there a lot of John
Ross's.... Denise
