Dear Guy
We (several long time researchers) have been working for years on our connections.
We have identifed a few lines with links back to England.
We've not come across a German connection, yet.
If you'd like to see our DNA website, you can see the lineages

Rencher and Renshaw were used interchangebly in the early days, most noted in the Harford Md. line in the late 1600 to 1700's.
My own Rencher line does not seem to have used Renshaw, but DNA indicates there is a strong family tie somewhere down the line. Ours came from Ireland by way of Scotland, and before that, Husbands Bosworth, Leicestershire England
Another line has been traced back to Derbyshire Eng.(which borders Leicestershire)
You might be interested also in joining the Rootsweb Renshaw mailing list. It's quite active and it's archives may have some good information for you.
Variations include Rensha, Wrencher, Rensher, Renchaw, Ramshaw, Reinshaw, Ranshaw, Raynshaw, and I'm sure there are others.
