My great-grandfather, Oliver Cottman, was born 1889 in Princess Anne, MD. I am hoping to learn the identity of his father (presumably a Cottman). I am also hoping to find ancestral photos or other records. Oliver had a sister, Beulah born around 1894 but, she may have died by age 10. I've traced the following information about his mother's side of the family:

Oliver's Mother - Maggie Jackson (of Cherokee descent) born around 1872. Daughter of William Jackson (occupation listed as a carpenter in 1870) and Louisa Gibbons. Had a brother, William. Both with dark skin and grey eyes. They also had an older sister named Ella (think she died young). Maggie and her mother, Louisa, were clothes washers.

Oliver's Grandmother - Louisa Gibbons (married name Jackson) born about 1840. Daughter of Arnold Gibbons and Julia or Judy Dixon. Had at least one brother, Arnold Gibbons born about 1850 (worked in a lumber mill in 1880).

In 1910, Oliver lived on King's Creek Rd. (If I made out the handwriting correctly), with his wife Harriet Hawkes, grandmother Louisa Jackson, apparently next door to his uncle William (with wife Anne and daughter Cleo).

Any information, clues or advice would be greatly appreciated!
