I agree that St. Mary's City would be a great place to see. You will also want to
pay a visit to the St. Clement's Island Museum, the St. Mary's County Historical
Society (including Tudor Hall) and since most of the families that went to KY were
Catholic, I think you should plan to see St. Ignatius RCC at St. Inigoes and St.
Francis Xavier RCC at Newtown, because that's where many of your families attended
church and many of them are buried. St. Joseph's RCC and Sacred Heart RCC are also
both beautiful old churches too and there are ties there as well. You're within
easy driving distance of Leonardtown from all of these.
I have not, although I plan to, signed up to attend if at all possible. Who is the
planner for this event? I would think that they may already be planning to hand out
materials that would include maps, etc.
