Noah Bailey was b. 1792 in SMC. He died here 5/27/1858. I have that he was the
son of John Bailey. He married first, Mary Wheatley and after she died, he
married Ann Elizabeth Shercliffe 10/7/1823 at St. Thomas RCC, Charles Co., MD.
Ann Elizabeth Shercliffe had been married previously to Edward Tennison. She was
the daughter of Francis Xavier Shercliffe and Clarissa "Clare" Walker. She was b.
5/10/1802 and died 12/19/1888. Both she and Noah are buried at St. Joseph's RCC.
Their children:

1. Ann Rebecca, b. 11/22/1825 and d. 9/29/1904. She married first, George W.
Mattingly 4/13/1847 and secondly, James Guy 2/20/1882.

2. Mary, b. 11/1829 and died 5/8/1906. She m. Alexander Joshua Thompson
2/5/1850.

3. John Joseph, b. 1830 and died 3/5/1894. He married first, Sarah Jane "Jennie"
Long 12/31/1875 and secondly Elizabeth Mattingly 1/17/1894.

4. Noah Shercliffe, b. 1/1834 and d. 3/1912. He married first, Ann Charlotte
Graves 4/18/1860 and secondly, Mary Jolin Long 1/8/1883.

5. James Henry, b. 1838 and d. 10/14/1911. He m. first, Eliza Ann Hayden
2/6/1857 and secondly, Julia (Jane) Charlotte Russell 6/21/1870.

6. William Thomas "Bill Tom", b. 5/6/1840 and d. 4/12/1909. He m. first, Mary A.
Elizabeth "Bettie" Swann 8/24/1869 and secondly, Rosa C. Guy 6/10/1878. Bill Tom
Bailey was the National Guard in 1867 and was listed as being 5'8" tall. As you
stated, he was a teacher. He also served as a Confederate soldier and last an eye
at the Battle of Squirrel Run. (He served in Co. A, 1st MD Battery, CSA).

Mary A. Elizabeth "Bettie" Swann was b. 1844 and d. 10/3/1876 (also buried at St.
Joseph's). She was the daughter of William A. Swann and his wife, Chloe A.____.
By this marriage, there was:

a. Thomas B., b. 3/1870; living 1880.

b. Mary Jeannette, b. 3/1873 and d. 5/13/1959 who m. Joseph Russell
12/31/1895.

c. Mary Lucy, b. 7/1876 and d. 1962 who m. Philip C. Drury 1/19/1897.

Rosa C. "Rosie" Guy was b. 9/21/1858 and d. 4/11/1936. She was the daughter of
Peter H. Guy and Jane Appalonia Perry (whose father was also a teacher). By this
marriage:

a. Charles H., b. 5/1879; living 1900.

b. Ann Laura, b. 3/27/1881 and d. 3/31/1906 who m. James Spencer Knott
12/25/1899.

c. William A., b. 3/1883; living 1900.

d. George A., b. 11/3/1885 and d. 4/5/1943.

e. Mary L., b. 9/1887; living 1900.

f. John Franklin "Frank", b. 3/1890 and d. 1957. He m. Alberta M. "Vertie"
Long.

g. Felix Albert, b. 10/5/1891 and d. 8/15/1892.

h. Thomas A., b. 6/1893; living 1910.

i. John Lewis, b. 2/1896 and d. 1970. He m. Marian Ray.

j. William T., b. 9/1899; living 1910.
