Fasinating! Clement Hill was the son-in-law of Col. Henry Darnall.
Clement Hill, Jr. (the one mentioned here) married Mary Digges, the
daughter of Charles Digges and Susanna Maria Lowe. The son, Clement
Hill, that you mention must be their son. The name that you can't read
could therefore be LOWE, because of the family connection. Could have
been written LOW, spellings were optional in those days.
