I don't see any connection with a Rose and a Newton in Isaac Allerton's
will of 1702 that would fit chronologically with Rose Tucker Gerard Newton.
These disconnects present heartburn to me and appear to mean that they
are not the same people.
First item is that Rose was 80 in 1709 (born ca 1629 then). She married
in 1666 to Thomas Gerard, he died in 1673. She was then a widow of 44.
It is unlikely therefore she had kids by John Newton at the age of 45.
So the Allerton Newton named in Isaac Allerton's will of 1702 if he was
John Newton's son was not named in the will of Rose Newton of 1712 Westmoreland
Co, VA. And Allerton if he was not 21 by the time of the will in 1702 was
born after 1681 so that would make Rose age 52 at the earliest to have
had him. Not possible.
And in order for Isaac Allerton to be her father, he would have been 93
at a minimum by 1702 when he died which is possible since I am told he
was born in 1611.
And if Isaac had children born by the first wife in 1650s, why was Rose
born in 1629 over 20 years prior.
I think therefore that someone has mixed up a lot of records but I hope
by checking further I might be able to find some valuable information on
these people that could help.
There is a record on one site from a guy who conjectures that Rose is a
Struman. I don't agree with the rationale for the "proofs" given in the
record though so I doubt it.
