Mary Caroline "Mamie" Dent was b. 1867 and was living after 1924. She was the
daughter of Thomas Dent and Anna Frances Allstan. She married first, Lewis
Philip Combs on 5/9/1886 at St. George's RCC, Valley Lee. He was born
5/19/1860 and died 2/2/1897 and is buried at St. George's. He was the son of
Philip Ford Combs and Ann Virginia Coad.

The second husband of Mamie Dent was John Thadeus Herbert, son of John C.
Herbert and Jane Elizabeth Alvey, and the widower of Amanda Kidwell. They were
married 5/4/1899 at St. Aloysius RCC in Washington, D.C.

The third husband of Mamie Dent was Alvey (Alva) B. Hancock, the son of Josias
Hawkins Hancock and Mary M. Sothoron. They were married some time after 1924.

At the time of the 1910 census, Mamie stated she had no children. This census
asked how many children the mother had and how many were living. Therefore, I
assume she never had any children.
