Hope you're still checking this board.
Do you have an Alverda or Amelda (or something that sounds like that) in your Arnolds?
She married John Wesley Steele some time before 1888. They are my great grandparents.

John Wesley's father came from England via Baltimore. JW was born about 1852.

The only thing I have about Alverda is that she was from "the eastern shore." "Eastern shore," to me is that area east of the Ches. Bay, but, I suppose to our ancestors, it could have meant the "eastern shore" of **this** side of the bay!
