William Edward Abell was b. 12/4/1834.

Jane Susanna H. Russell, b. 2/8/1836 and d. 1/7/1901.

Ann "Nancy" Broome Martin, dau. of William Martin and Ann "Nancy" Broome married
first, James Mackall Broome (b. Montgomery Co., 4/29/1791 and d. SMC, 2/9/1823).
He was the son of Thomas Broome and Mary Mackall and the widower of Margaret
Mackall whom he married 4/4/1812.

Her children by this first marriage: John Mackall Broome who m. Susanna Margaret
Bennett; Mary Ann H. Broome who m. Robert Montgomery Biscoe; and Sarah Elizabeth
Broome who m. James S. Morsell (of Calvert Co.).

This family just loved to name their children with middle names of Mackall,
Broome, and Hooper. Then, of course, you have cousins marrying and then it
really gets to be fun. I usually have a huge headache by the time I finish
working with them awhile.

8/1825: John C. Ashcom appointed guardian to John M., Mary Ann, and Sarah
Elizabeth Broome, orphans of James M. Broome (Orphan Ct. Rec., Fenwick).

11/1823: Benjamin Broome, Adm. of James M. Broome (Orphan Ct. Rec., Fenwick).

11/3/1825: Orphans of James M. Broome. Guardian: John C. Ashcom (married widow
of James M. Broome and became guardian). Assessors: Peter Gough and Thomas J.
Bennett. Property: The dwelling plantation now occupied by John C. Ashcom who
married the widow of the said James M. Broome and who has become guardian to the
children; Wheatley's tenement; Rhymer's tenement; Mrs. Price's tenement; Benjamin
Broome's tenement. About 900 ac. besides the 200 ac. in dispute between John
Leigh, Esq. and the heirs. (Annual Valuations and Assessments by Kirk Ranzetta).
