The will of Thomas Warren, dated 06 January 1708 and proved on 23 November
1710, names his wife Jane and his minor children Barton, Thomas, Elizabeth,
Sarah and one unborn child:(29)

To wife Jane, ext., 50 A., dwelling plantation, part of 300 A., Frailty
To son Thomas, dwelling plantation afsd. at decease of wife, and he dying
without issue, land afsd. to pass to unborn child and hrs. if male, if not,
to son Barton
To daus. Eliza: and Sarah, personalty; the latter to stay with her mother
during minority
To wife and child. afsd., residue of estate. Sons to be of age at 18 years
Test: John Lofte, Jos. Bowells, Jno. Harris.

The witness, John Lofte, probably was the stepfather of George Scrogin, Jr.
(B4). Lofte could be a copyist's error for Loften and John Lofton's name was
spelled many ways in public records, Lofton, Loften, Loftley, and Loftlee.
Colonel Humphrey Warren, Jr. was born in 1652, son of Humphrey, Sr. by his
first wife whose name has not been determined. Humphrey, Jr. married
(1) ----- ------ and (2) Margery Cage about 1681.(30) The will of Humphrey
Warren Jr. of Charles County, Maryland, was dated 14 August 1689 and proved
on 25 February 1694. His legatees were:(31)
