Hi,
This is John Stone Jr., the son of John Stone Sr. and Elizabeth ?Warren?, the
grand-son of William and Verlinda. (John Stone Sr. was also married to Eleanor
Bayne (probably as a third wife and possibly a Florence or Frances ?Weston?
second, mother of Matthew). Eleanor was the daughter of Walter Bayne and Eleanor
?Weston? and was the mother of Walter, Elizabeth, and Eleanor Stone. Eleanor
Bayne married second Hugh Teares, and third John Beale--not of the Beall
family.)
Ann Fowke was John Jr.'s niece, the daughter of Thomas Stone and Jane Hoskins,
Ann Stone m. Roger Fowke. (I just posted a message to the Charles County list
giving much info on the Thomas Stone family.) Thomas Stone was John's only
full-blooded sibling.
Ann Bayne was either his step-uncle's wife Ann (Ebbsworth) Bayne, or John and
Ann Bayne's daughter Ann. If my calculations are right, the daughter Ann was
still single and would make more sense--a bethrothal candidate!
I've seen this reference (but haven't checked it out) for John Stone Sr.'s
marriage to his first wife given as Elizabeth Warren.
Married: 1667 in Edgefield, South Carolina Marriage film #2034442. The same
marriage film from the same source gave Thomas Stone as having married Martha
Hoskins 1699 in Edgefield,South Carolina, and I know that is hooey.
Bye,
Norma
