In 1624 there was a couple named Anthony and Agnes Ebbsworth in Elizabeth City,
VA. I certainly jumped the gun in giving Ann the surname of Ebbsworth without
the question marks because I still haven't shown a connection.
And it goes to show how much I know, in that I didn't know John Bayne had a
prior wife.
Bye,
Norma

wife of Walter Bayne and named his second wife, Eleanor, as the daughter of
Thomas Weston. Because of the Burk's information, those wives have become
acceptable on momentum alone.

Randall Ravell's life and will negate the fact that his daughter married Walter
Bayne.
> In the case of Thomas Weston, he left a will naming only one daughter who
lived in New England and married Roger Conant. Weston was sly enough to have
had two families, but Walter Bayne's brother, Ralph, acted on the estate , and
the Baynes would have known the truth.

> I have no one to offer to replace Mary Ravell. We know from the archives that
her name was Mary. I will mention this at the risk of starting a rumor that is
certainly ill-founded: Walter Bayne and Wm Marshall were partners and eventually
broke up their partnership amicably. During the partnership, they assigned a
ring (I think it was a ring) to Judith, the daughter of Walter and Mary Bayne.
This is too thin to cause us to think that Mary Bayne was of the Marshall
family, but I just thought I would throw it out there.

> I believe you gave the name Ebbsworth as the maiden name for Ann, the second
wife of Capt. John Bayne. (Would love to know her name) I have found nothing
that is a clue to her name before it was Gerrard. It is commonly said that she
was a Hawkins, but there is not a lick of evidence to support it.
> I have, also, seen the name Warren for the first wife of Capt John Bayne.
There is more to disprove it than prove it. She could not possibly have been a
daughter of Notley Warren as is commonly stated. Maybe Smallwood and maybe not.
