Welcome to the real world of the golden age, Linda.
It took you longer than me.

In the past, I have shared information with a number of you and others on
Eliza (Elizabeth) Catherine Carpenter (who married Hezekiah Garner Hayden)
and Mary Ellen Carpenter.

I'm really not sure when I lost my ability to read and comprehend, but
obviously at some point I did, as I had these girls as the children of
Charles Carpenter (son of John Carpenter and Susanna Turner). The will of
Charles Carpenter, below, clearly states that they were the daughters of
Samuel Carpenter (son of George Carpenter and Catherine Maddox) who married
Eleanor M. Wilson, 12/31/1817.

Charles Carpenter, 10/10/1823-10/28/1823 (JF #1, fol. 82). Little Cousins:
Eliza Catherine Carpenter and Mary Ellen Carpenter (children of Samuel
Carpenter), all of my estate both real and personal equally divided between
them. If either of them die before coming of age or having lawful issue,
the survivor is to inherit both shares. Executor: Samuel Carpenter.
Witnesses: Raphael Neale, Thomas G. Neale, Catherine Wilson

Charles Carpenter and Samuel Carpenter were cousins, but not through their
Carpenter fathers, but rather through the Turners. Susanna Turner (married
John Carpenter) and Lydia Turner (married Samuel Maddox) were sisters
(daughters of Edward Turner and Eleanor Wilson). Lydia Turner and Samuel
Maddox were the parents of Catherine Maddox, the wife of George Carpenter.
