Apparently it's necessary, from time to time, to notify folks about rules, so here goes:

1. This list is for sharing genealogical and historical information relating to St. Mary's County, Maryland. Off topic posts are not permitted.

2. Do not post any virus warnings, chain letters, political announcements, or personal messages.

3. This list is not a place for your personal political or religious beliefs nor is it a forum for personal vendettas.

4. I insist that there will be no rude comments or flaming on the list. If you have a concern with an individual, please write directly to them. I am not now, nor has it ever been my role to be an arbitrator.

For the 99% of you who already adhere to these rules, please accept my apologies for taking your time.
