Thanks, but not such a good job after all. There were two girls named Mary C. Mattingly, both born about 1846 and I managed to scramble them.

Mary C. Mattingly, dau. of Henry Mattingly and Jane Rebecca Burroughs married James Alexander Norris, 4/14/1868.

Mary Cornelia Mattingly, dau. of Francis L. Mattingly and Mary Eleanor "Ellen" Drury, married Richard Thomas Woodburn, 9/2/1878.

Charley Moore brought this to my attention and when I went back and checked census records, I found that Mary C. Mattingly, dau. of Francis L., was still living at home at the time of the 1870 census, so obviously she wasn't the Mary C. Mattingly who had married James Alexander Norris in 1868.

Sorry for the confusion, but glad now to get it correct.

Linda Reno
