brother to John Reed Jarboe, Lewis and James Jarboe who also came to
Kentucky. James Jarboe was the 1st husband to my ancestress, Charity
(Elder) Jarboe Fowler. If I remember correctly, Margaret Reed's mother may
have been a Clark. Note from Karen Fowler Caldwell (),
5/22/2003.

Also, I think the way this record is written has led to misunderstandings
and I'd bet that James Langley was actually guardian to Elizabeth Langley,
not Clement Johnson:

Now we have four children for Margaret _____, widow of _____Langley. Her
husband's dead by 1794 when Margaret allows daughter Mary to get married.
Margaret's still living in 1808 when she allows Elizabeth to get married.

Oldest child is probably John who married without permission in 1799, so he
was at least 21 and born 1778 or earlier. This means Margaret was born
prior to 1763 (assuming she was at least 15 when she was married) and her
husband ____Langley was born prior to 1758 (assuming he was at least 20 when
he was married). Gives us a timeframe to look at anyway.

I've checked every Langley I have (mostly St. Mary's County) and have nobody
that fits the bill. Somebody with access to early KY records needs to look
for men named Langley who are in Washington Co., KY early and then
disappear.

I don't know who Monica Johnson would be either.
