I received a question on membership in the St. Mary's County Genealogical Society.
"Do you have to live in St. Mary's County ?"
NO, you don't.
We are open to anyone w/ an interest in St. Mary's County history and genealogy.
About 1/3 of our membership is out of the Southern Maryland area; many of them are in Montgomery County, Baltimore, etc. I'd guess, maybe, 20% are scattered around the country beyond Maryland. Most of those are from the Kentucky Migration.
Many of our local members - like me - are "foreign imports" from other areas.
Membership is $14.00 a year; you receive 4 issues of the quarterly "Generator."
