I think you'll need to ask someone else about Joseph F. Mattingly. I
haven't researched him. If I had to take a guess, I'd say he was probably
the son of John Mattingly and Grace Brewer. That Joseph was born prior to
1744 and he had a brother named James Barton and Joseph F. Mattingly named a
son, Barton.

I have Catherine Forrest, dau. of Thomas Forrest, Jr. and Mary Catherine
Spalding, as the wife of Elisha Vessels.
